What was the first anime/cartoon that you've watched?
When we were kids, we were so fond of the cartoon and anime shows that are showing on TV. If I remember correctly, my first anime that I watched was probably Astro Boy. I was always looking forward to seeing it every time I come home from school and on weekends.

Then I began to have many favorite cartoon shows and animes like any other kids before. It was a really fun and memorable childhood years.

As far as I can remember, the first anime I have watched was He-Man The Masters of the Universe. He-Man's true identity was Prince Adam of Eternia. During transformation, he raised his sword and said, " By the power of Grayskull, I have the Power". Prince Adam has a green tiger named Cringer that transforms into a armored green tiger named Battle Cat. He has a twin sister named Princess Adora who transform into She-Ra, The Princess of Power. He-Man's archenemy was Skeletor, an evil sorcerer. I really love this anime and most of the time I try to copy his gestures when I was playing with my playmates. I really miss the anime's of the 90's!

Ah I remember that show. The dude with huge muscles. Was he a dude really? Lol. Animes back then are so not animes. I mean, the improvements that they have right now is marvelous and amazing! You can't even tell that Tom and Jerry is a cartoon now. The graphics looks like that of an anime. Lol

Oh Yes! e-Man was my jam when I was a kid. I had Castle Greyskull and all of the toys and I watched it religiously. Remember Beast Man? I think he was based upon Enkidu from The Epic of Gilgamesh, actually, but I am not quite sure. I can still hear Skeletor's weasel-like shrill voice in my head as he plotted and planned mass destruction every episode. I was always thoroughly entertained by this show, and I wouldn't mind watching it again to see if it stands the test of time.

Seriously I had flashbacks with He-Man, and of course I was a fan of She-Ra, my cousins had the castle and we use to play for hours. My other favorites where The Thundercats, Silverhawks, Mazinger Z, Candy White, Rainbow Brite, The Care Bears, The justice league, Maya Bee, Lalabell, Galactico, and all the Looney Toons serie. Well, I guess I was a cartoon addict in the end.

Man, I started watching anime probably 15 years ago and to be honest, I am not quite sure. However, I do remember watching anime like VS Knight Lamune & 40 fire, because it was shown on television, there's a lot of old school anime like that. Pokemon, Yu-gi-Oh and so on are anime that most of us have watched, however we didn't know that they were such years ago and maybe they are the first ones for a lot of people too, I am sure that everyone has some nice memories from them to share.

Ah I still remember Pokemon and later Yu-Gi-Oh. Yu-Gi-Oh was one of the best parts of my childhood specially on my high school life. Me and my friends would collect all the decks and cards and we would be dueling during recess and vacant hours. Really an amazing game and boosts your intellectual agility as well. Then we would imitate that of the anime and everyone would be looking at us. But the memories and fun were still there.

When I was a small child in my country the communism was on the rise and we had only 4 hours a day to watch the television and two of these hours was with news, and dedications for our ruler, another hour was with popular music and weather, and we kids had one hour to watch cartoons. The first cartoon and maybe the only one for a long period of time was "Tom and Jerry". After the communism fell in 1989 we could see a lot of cartoons and we could watch television all day long if we wanted!

I started watching anime with Knights of the Zodiac. I used to stay awake until late hours to wait for it and I have watched almost the entire anime and also read the comic book too. Then I started watching Dragon Ball Z which keep me hooked also. Those are the best animes by far in my opinion. Nowadays people just don't have enough creativity to come up with something new.

The first anime I watched was Slam Dunk. This show is so funny. Hanamichi Sakuragi and his gang are just killing it in this anime. I'm a basketball fan too that's why I loved the show. It also taught me lessons like teamwork and persevering to achieve your dreams. This one is definitely a classic and I would never get bored watching it over and over again.

Unfortunately, I've never been into anime. All my friends are strangely enough, but it's never really bogged my mind to the point of curiosity to actually watch. Regarding cartoons, if I remember correctly, I think Arthur was the first cartoon I ever watched. Growing up, my parents were very sensitive on what I watched because they recognized children's minds are like a sponge. So they were careful to what I soaked up from television. I guess Arthur seemed "age appropriate" in their minds. So that's the first cartoon I really watched consistently. Next came Spongebob, classic Looney Toons shows like Tom and Jerry, and everything else on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. So that's a little info on my cartoon history haha.

If anyone of you had remembered Fushigi Yuugi or Mysterious Play or Curious play which is actually a Japanese Manga Series/ Anime. It had captured me aside from the fact that It is a love story, the story has full of good looking characters and the story itself is basically captivating. I remembered that I would rush home from school just to see the daily episodes on TV. I really love that Anime that I have collected some memorabilia with me.

I remember watching Star Blazers as a kid every morning before school while I waited for the bus. Watching the giant battleship, with its wave motion gun, go into outer space to defend the earth from hostile alien invasion was pretty awesome. I also remember getting into Robotech, and I loved the toy line that corresponded to that show. I loved Voltron too--I think that one was about the giant robot that was made when the five team members combined their ships into one giant mech, but I could be confusing it with some other show. It's been many years since those days.

I have never liked ninja anime shows such as Naruto. If I were to choose from Naruto over Bleach or One Piece, I would chose the other two over Naruto. I just don't feel the hype when I watch Naruto. But don't get me wrong though, it is a very good anime and it is very popular. It's just not for me I guess. My little brother is obsessed with Naruto lol. I just don't find it versatile and flexible for an anime.

Tom and Jerry, it was my first cartoon, I was very young then. This cat and mouse fight would really glue me to the T.V. the whole day. Till this day I find it amazing, though it can't get me hooked like before, my kids love it like I used too.

Tom and Jerry was my first cartoon too, I really liked the cat and mouse concept and how they were able to make every episode different despite the concept being very basic. I remember growing up and starting to feel bad for Tom.

I don't remember what was the first anime I watched. I think it was either Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball. The thing is, there was this channel that used to show anime in the afternoon when I was a kid, one anime after another. I don't remember the order, but it was something along the lines of: Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Captain Tsubasa, Kuro-chan, Slam Dunk, Ninja Boy Rantaro, The Slayers, Star Pitcher and many others. That channel influenced me and nursed my love for anime.

I remember this! Let's volt in! Insert hype and catchy music here Ah! This brings back a lot of memories and fun times specially with our neighbors running around at our backyard. There was also another robot kind cartoon or anime. Was it gundam? Not really sure. It has something to do with Russia or Great Britain or something. But it was really awesome I'm telling you. I remember singing the intros so loud even if I don't understand Japanese lol.

I remember watching the animated series 'The Looney Tunes'. Those have always been my favorite and even though I am grown up now I still watch these cartoons from time to time. To be honest I can't really find any good cartoon nowadays. I hate the storyline and characters in today's cartoons and that's the reason why I don't watch those new cartoons. I prefer to watch the old ones as they are more fun and bring back good memories.

Yeah, I've watched this cartoon too but only for a short time since for some reason I weren't able to watch it again after a couple of days. Probably it was replaced by another one. I couldn't really recall anymore too.. It was a long time ago but as usual though, we would always recall our favorite ones. :D Ah yes, Bugs Bunny and the gang. Good ol' times. It was so fun to watch back then we were still kids.

I can't remember whether it was the Looney Tunes show or Spongebob Squarepants. It doesn't matter too much I guess because both shows I love. Both were great, both were funny and I always looked forward to watching both after coming home from school. I miss the Looney Tunes show because it had mini shows with Bugs Bunny, Road Runner and the Space Alien fellow. Spongebob is still here and on Netflix so it isn't a big miss.

Speaking of Spongeguard Squarejars, :D I haven't seen that show when I was a kid but I've seen it when I was on high school! Yes! :D I don't even know when the show aired but when I downloaded some of it's episosdes from the Internet, I've seen some very poor quality animations of the show. Maybe it was on it's early days after release. And the voices are weird too before unlike the current Spongebarb. :p

When I was a kid in the 80's I was a military brat. Being stationed in Germany, my family enjoyed the weird television programs the military contracted to be shown on our channels. One of them was an Anime from the 1970s called Mazinger Z in Japan, Tranzor Z almost everywhere else. It was about a pilot who controlled a giant robot made out of a novel metal that couldn't be destroyed. Each episode he fought a new monster created by his nemesis, Dr. Demon. It was a lot of fun.

I like watching cartoon, at the same time, I also watching anime, as alternative entertainment. My favorite one time was doraemon. It was a fictional character, created by nobita in the future. Nobita inspired to make one, because his current doraemon was destroyed, and he dedicated his entire life to make such one.

It was an inspiring to watch, such as doraemon, it also teached us that, despite our friend is different. We should accept him by the heart, not the physical appearance. I missed doraemon, I hope, they have another version on it to watch.

I'm not sure if it's He-man or Captain Planet. But I have more memories regarding Captain Planet. I remember enjoying watching Captain Planet with my parents. I never really cared about the story back then. What was important was that I got to see the 5 Planeteers who each had their own special powers that came from the elements earth, fire, wind, water and heart.

I liked it the most when the 5 Planeteers would eventually combine their powers to finally summon Captain Planet. I no longer remember what his powers were, but I remember him as a cool dude who was very powerful.

Tom and Jerry, this show actually was part of my childhood, no doubt about it. Hanna-Barbera and Chuck Jones are the real legends behind the beloved series. The 80's Tom & Jerry one was awful, (saved for The Tom & Jerry Kids one), but I really liked that flying episode one and Gene Dietch? wrong guy for the job. I can't help, but feel really sorry for Tom in this one. Of course, we all can't forget former Tom & Jerry character Clint Cobbler who senselessly beat-up Tom, since Tom obviously hasn't done anything wrong to him. To add insult to injury, Gene even made a messed up episode called "Tom's Basement", which was banned, along with "Blue Cat Blues". The one episode I liked from him was "Sorry Safari". But all in all, Gene Dietch serves as an example of what NOT to do as an animator. Two new Tom & Jerry shows were a big disgrace to the original series, such as this one. Anyways, this show will always be part of my childhood.

I can remember which was the first cartoon I ever saw. I think like most of us, it probably was from cartoon network, I remember seeing Tom and Jerry a lot, after that the looney tunes were really a thing too. Tom and Jerry, the ever classic duo. Just like Spongebob and Mickey Mouse and the gang, Tom and Jerry really made our childhoods awesome. Although I don't think it is advisable for young kids specially the babies to let them watch cartoons without voices. :/ I noticed Mr. Bean before don't even talk. Now he does. They probably thought that these kinds of shows affect young children thus they want it to be more educational or help them utter their first words or something.

“Speed Racer.” I had to do a little research because when I watched this series I did not know anything about “anime” at the time. It's just that the program aired in the morning when I was getting ready for work and getting my kids ready to take to the babysitter. I had the television on, this program started and I got into it! I still remember the theme music. I think I enjoyed it more than my kids. "Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer! GO!" :)

I'm not sure if The Legend of Prince Valiant is considered as an anime here but it certainly made an impact on me. I can still remember the song quite clearly 'A whisper in my ear, voice strong so clear and on this beach I see a million grains of sand... I can't really recall the name of animation cartoon I watch but I can still remember the story line. The story is about chickens, I think they were all held prisoners and being used for chicken pie. They didn't actually know that some of them that have been taken away are dead and used for the chicken pie until one of them found out.

There was one funny male chicken among them, he and some other male chickens devised a means and built an aeroplane which they later used to escape their captivity.

We need some help from you now. Come on Scooby doo..." It's one of the greatest animated cartoons to ever air on cartoon network. Sometimes I am worried that my kid will miss out on the best with the current cartoon list leaving so much to be wanted. That's why I savethem. There are other greater ones like PowerPuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Cow and Chicken and The Fredstones.

I can't remember! But I do recall being absolutely mesmerized. Watching anime for the first time was a whole new world. I had never seen anything like it before. I loved the whimsical nature of it. It was also a bit of a serious, adult movie which I found to be so interesting. In Western culture, there are not many animated movies that are for adults and not children. I do enjoy anime and should start watching more of it.

Definitely the Tom and Jerry cartoon was also popular here when I was a girl although I don’t remember if I was in grade school or already in high school. The tv is rare during my youth and I am lucky to have a tv at home so that I could watch the afternoon shows especially the cartoons of the olden days. If you are my contemporary then maybe you have heard of the Road Runner and Flintstones which were fine animation cartoons.

I spent my childhood watching Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball, Pokemon, Trigun, Detective Conan on TV. Then I started watching on the PC, so when I saw some of the studio Ghibili movies I was honestly blow away by the art, the storytelling, etc... basically I cried like a bitch! But that was all just what I would watch regularly while living my life. Then my cousin brought me some anime, notably: Samurai Champloo, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note, Blood+ and Code Geass. That was the moment that changed my life into the worthless waste of time my parents call today. I couldn’t be more proud of myself!
