Which Grinch?

Christmas wouldn't be the same without watching "The Grinch." The most recent incarnation of "The Grinch" gives us three titles to choose from now.

The original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" reminds us of being home from school on vacation, counting down the days until Christmas morning. We loved watching his heart grow three sizes as he realized he didn't really hate Christmas after all.

Jim Carrey's live-action version of "The Grinch" gives us an amazing vision of WhoVille. Jim Carrey really shines in his role and brings The Grinch to life, fleshing out the character and giving him depth. We even understand why The Grinch is so grouchy.

The newest Grinch, released just last month, is a lighthearted return to an animated Grinch. He doesn't seem as mean or angry this time around. His nasty attitude is toned down. His facial features are smooth and rounded, giving him a much softer look. The colors in the movie are brighter. This version is very kid-friendly and non-threatening, which may be a good choice if you have very young children.

Which version of "The Grinch" is your favorite one that you look forward to watching? What makes it your favorite?

The new 2018 Grinch actually looks quite interesting. I like the animation style and it looks like it’s going to be quite good, but I’m going to have to wait and see it before I actually make a decision.

I’ve never really been a fan of the 2000 edition of Grinch. Jim Carrey is a fantastic actor and I love his movies, but I think that he overdid the character a little bit. All of his actions are way too exaggerated and I feel like his overly emotive acting style didn’t suit the character well.

The 1966 classic is always going to be my favorite, not only because it’s the original, but because I feel that no one has been able to improve upon or even match it up until now.

Honestly, I didn't like Jim Carrey as The Grinch. It was somehow boring, because I thought they were going to show a more funny side of the character, based on the fact Jim Carrey is an amazing actor. But it looked like if it was somehow a bipolar Grinch, and I felt confused about his reactions according to the situation in the movie. I think the classical Grinch from the 60's, it's still the perfect one.

This new Grinch seems interesting. It's an animated version, with really cool effects, and it looks very funny. So, maybe with this version, I will finally see some fun that was supposed to happen in the 2000's movie. What I really like about modern animation, is that nowadays these movies are for everybody, and they always leave a wonderful lesson at the end.

Which Grinch: I only watched the Grinch in 2000 version but it was not that interesting and i won't recommend it honestly but I am fan of the leading actor it is just this time that i don't appreciate it that much. But since it has a new version now i will still watch this new one because as what you've said it seems interesting.

I have watched this but since I was kind of afraid of the main character, I chose not to finished it since I am still young at that time. I can watch it anytime here again and I guaranty that I can finish this since I'm already an adult and there's nothing to be afraid of the character anymore.

Haha! I also remember myself having uneasiness at the main character when I was a child. But, I later came to love the movie and the plot.

I think the animation of the recent movies are greatly enhanced. Maybe that is because of the new animation software that they using and also the skills of the animator. Unlike before when animation is very expensive because it is a hard work that needs not only skills but talent to create the graphics. But if the software can give you the benefit of creating animation that is easier than before then the artistry will be improved.

I just have to go with original one. I mean he is the one who taught us who he really is and what he does. Watching him back them gave me the creeps though. I was really curious about him and always thought that he was true and trying to ruin Christmas always. So what I did was wrote a note that "Grinch, you are not allowed here! Please leave!" and yes I did say please.

It's hard to choose. Because every movie is for a certain age and generation. But, I would go with the 2000 movie because it was the one that I first watched.

I haven't had the time yet to check the new grinch movie. I am a big fan of JIm Carrey so maybe I'm biased in voting for the 2000 version of the film. I have now learned that the 1966 film is a classic and I would check it out this weekend.
