Why is Facebook the most hacked social media site?
All social media sites are subject to being hacked once a hacker sees the means to penetrate your account on the site. But from my analysis so far, it's very obvious that among all the social media sites in existence, Facebook happens to be the most frequently hacked site.

Why is such happening? Is there anything too special about Facebook?

The answer is very simple. Because Facebook has more users than other social media sites. If they hack Facebook, many are affected and the public will be alarmed by their action. On the other hand, if those hackers hack a small website, who cares? One more thing. Since Facebook has the most number of users, I believe that the administrators of Facebook will improve their security measures to protect their users. If the hackers can hack Facebook again after the improvement, then that will only show that they are really good hackers. Great hackers will not hack Facebook but Government and Bank websites.

I also think the same. Top hackers wouldn't mind a simple person's account. That always aim for something that would benefit them greatly. I guess, they don't like watmsting their time on messing up a random account that only posts quotes. Haha

t is always risky as you get to be some sort of a celeb or are known by several people and there are those out there that are very envious if the way you live. The greatest hackers also started off somewhere with simple hacks and then moved on to the more complex ones.

Facebook has really been done a number by various rappers and their reputation has in such a manner gotten bad as there are those that fear their details being exposed. I have little activity on the platform myself.

Many users easily provide their background information in Facebook and of course, they tend to post like very thing about their lives. So, people can easily crack a security question and such. Facebook is really easy to hack, even before. When I forgot my password back when I was in highschool, Facebook just asked who the people are behind the random photos on my Facebook for me to create a new password. Hell, that was so easy. Haha

This is so risky that it should not be discounted. The police are always keen to get some revenge when an officer is arrested.

I think facebook tend to be the most hacked because people use the social network for sharing stuff. College kids and old people tend to share their personal information. And no other site that can be replacing them is there as of yet. I have not yet managed to use the other sites that can be good enough to use. Like ello, hello, diaspora. None of them stand for the facebook there.

I think it ultimately comes down to user base. Facebook has such a large number of users that if a hacker wants maximum carnage they’re going to try and hack someone big. More data at risk is a greater chance of reward for a hacker, I presume.

TRue true. they are widely used to con people especially for the fact that those who store their details can be further robbed of numerous other accounts of other types.

It is because of the carelessness of the users. They tend to share their passwords with their friends which in turn reaches to the hacker inadvertently. This is the main cause and needs to be addressed with great caution. Also, at internet centers, people have some software(Key loggers) installed which collect the email id and passwords which the user enters when logging into Facebook.

Facebook has more users, hence any suspicious activity could easily be reported. Hackers are also targetting Facebook since it packs huge amounts of data for each user. Perhaps the factor of Facebook's website and app security features could also contribute.

This shows the cons of having the app which can lead to spoilt relationships and conflicts just because people love to make assumptions and any information is never verified to completeness.

I think that answer is simple. Facebook contains so much data about its users. Place of birth, hometown, relationship status and many other things. Also, people chat every day on facebook. The messages may contain some info about their credit cards, bank accounts or something similar to this. Their privacy is at risk because of some hackers. Hackers want information about people because they can potentially sell information they steal from Facebook on the Black market.

It is the most hacked because Facebook has big data. It has numerous users around the world and it is one of the most popular social media sites today.
