Yoga is more than an exercise to trim and tone the body, this Hindu spiritual and fitness discipline, implements breathing control, simple meditation, and adopting controlled body postures.

Yoga benefits your mind body and spirit in powerful ways; it's gentle stretches allowing you to increase self control, even as you strengthen your inner core, toning and tightening muscles. All that is required is patience and a willingness to let your body explore it's physical and spiritual limits through gentle movements. Unlike aerobic exercise which requires strenuous ballistic moves, the gentle yoga moves gently stretch the body, working on internal organs to massage them into shape. Not just lean body muscles are benefited by the use of daily yoga.

Yoga has many benefits, increasing flexibility and range of movement; strengthening of the core back and stomach muscles, with meditation and breathing exercises. And, it's thought to be a confidence or mood lifter.

And, workout gear is minimal, just comfortable clothing, a mat and an open space on your livingroom floor, saving travel time it would take to go to a gym and not to mention the price of gas and gym membership.

  • Makes you active
  • Improves circulation
  • Remove toxins
  • Relieve constipation
  • You can gain control of your mind
  • You can do it at home
  • Yoga increases strength and flexibility

  • Requires patient
  • Daily practice
  • Proper guidance is required

Has to be Yoga

Whenever I do any kind of workout I want it to be a success without any kind of problems such as aches and pains the following day. With Yoga it's so relaxing and so much more less strenuous than going to the gym and you don't need anything in terms of gym equipment to do yoga. It does take a while to get used to but once you know the basics you can work your way up to more difficult exercises. I have family members that do yoga and they say when they compare it to going to the gym it's so much more relaxing and I personally feel that any kind of workout should be relaxing.

Love Yoga! I've started practicing it since two or three years ago after all my friends have been doing it. We went to the yoga center and at first, I felt weird performing all these positions in front of other people but soon you let it go and completely relax.

Yoga isn't just a form of exercising but it's also a lifestyle. It improves your quality of life because it affects not only your body but also your mind. You will feel so much better and calmer after doing yoga.

Also, you can do it anywhere you want to and with the gym, you can't - you need certain exercise machines.

Cardio is really important to all human beings. As the sessions are more on the outer appearance and toning of the muscles and benefits mostly has only physical benefits.

For an instance, weight loss can only be achieved through cardio activities. Cardio can include any physical movement that puts your body into the fat burning or aerobic zone including walking, jogging, cycling, rope jumping, skipping or aerobic dance.

For gymming at home, you need the gym equipment’s and not at people can afford it also if your gym is far away from home, it may end up losing precious time and also there may be tendency to skip, due to distance issue or weather, etc

After working out in gym, you may feel tired to forward the day with muscle pains and may increase your hunger and lead to overeating.

  • Help you keep your muscles fit
  • Relieves stress
  • Weight loss
  • Rises appetite

  • Can be expensive
  • Tendency to avoid
  • Doing exercise in a wrong way
  • Requires commitment
  • Muscle pain and injuries
  • Increase hungry

The harder the better

Gym and exercise have been close to me for a long while now. The gym presents me the opportunity to vent out all pent up frustration in to the iron. Health wise, we are are all very aware of the impact workibg out has on our bodies, especially in this time of G.M.O's and excesses. We need to be able to used up all the calories we are taking in and what better way than to work out. Yoga in my opinion is more spiritual than it is of an exercise. Yoga allows you to be in tone and aware of your body. Gym on the other han allows you to create or sculpt the body that you want. In my opinion it is better to do both, and reap the benefits from both activities.

Gyming it!

Yoga is really good to learn and has a lot of healthy benefits for the mind, body and soul (spirit). And I do like to know and do Yoga sometimes if I'm with the right person. I used to teach girls how to do it as a way to pick them up. Get them on that level and then go in for the kill. AKA ask them if they want to go on a date. Well what did you think I meant!? But I do prefer the gym over yoga because I feel like I'm getting a better workout and actually feel like I've done something. Where as yoga is good for relaxing and finding your "zen". A good gym workout conditions your whole body and gives you more stamina and endurance overall. In fact, both of these things go hand in hand with each other and they're both good arts to practice regularly to maintain both a health mind, body, soul and spirit. :)

I love my gym!

I absolutely LOVE my gym and go 4 - 6 times a week. I have recently gotten really into weight training. I only do a brief amount of cardio to warm up and then I spend about an hour in the weight section. I schedule my workouts to target different muscle groups. I am noticing that I am gaining strength quickly and I feel great. Weight training is fun because I get to do a different type of exercise each time. If I were just going to the gym to run on the treadmill every day I would get bored pretty quick. I love the atmosphere of being with other people who are working out. I don't like working out at home. Plus, it's a good excuse to get out of the house for a bit.

Doing yoga requires daily practice, and for a grown up,it may be difficult at the beginning to do the stretching and bending. But going to the gym is not like that.Age does not make it easy or hard, and you can skip a day or two or you can make a schedule so you can go when you can on weekends maybe....and you can build up your muscles which would make you look smart and handsome too.....

I want bigger muscles so...

I prefer going to the gym. Your body will develop a lot more, specifically muscle strength as compared to merely doing yoga. I hear yoga improves breathing and promotes relaxation so it has its advantages. But overall, I believe that going to the gym gives you more benefits than going to a yoga session.

Also, I need to develop my muscles. That's why I mainly prefer going to the gym. So this all boils down to the needs of the person.

I am not a very flexible person, so yoga isn't ideal for me. I enjoy the gym because there is a lot of variety, you can choose from various cardio and strength training equipment, and there's freedom for you to listen to music or watch tv while you work out.

I usually just walk outdoors for my exercise but if I had to choose between these two I'd probably prefer just going to the gym since I feel like I could get more into building my muscles and seeing that type of progress compared to yoga where the progress is probably much more subtle.

I haven't renewed my gym membership yet but I plan to do so in the coming months. I'm not against yoga, it has a lot of health benefits like being more flexible and it also helps to train your mind to concentrate and focus but for me attending Yoga classes is more suited for women and going to the Gym to get buffed is for men.

I have done yoga a few times. It takes some practice that is for sure. I am intimidated when I go to the gym, so I would probably tend not to go. I did not realize that doing yoga can remove toxins from the body. I may just have to start doing this some more as I knew that it was good for me, but this part sounds very refreshing to me.

I will always choose yoga to gym. In fact I have never been to a guy and I have tried yoga to remain stay fit and healthy. Yoga is a technique to connect your body with mind. Yoga involves some body exercise routines that is guided through breathing. Yoga will balance your mind and body. Gym, on the other hand, is all about building your body muscles.

To be frank, I don’t like yoga because it seems to be a passive activity. One friend was inviting me to join her in a yoga class but I really couldn’t so I had to tell her frankly that I don’t like yoga. Well, it’s good for the mind, she says, and it is a great stress reliever. Maybe the gym is a better choice because it is a physical activity that can make me sweat and lose weight. And there’s a motivating factor in the gym because you can see the other people doing their workout. But to be honest, I don’t have time for the gym.

Gyming or having to get to the gym is my favorite way of keeping fit and it has really helped in my weight loss journey,I try to keep fit, firm the flabby arms and generally, just exercise my body. After gyming I feel lighter, more relaxed and I feel my heart pumping really an energizer because it makes one strong and gives one enough energy and again it helps keep stress ar bay.

I think it depends on what part of your fitness journey you are. I think that when you are first loosing weight the gym is the place for you to be. You will lose weight faster and you will tonne up faster. Yoga is amazing for you. Especially for stress levels and for your spiritual life. However you don't loose much weight with yoga. Yoga is kind of something you do to real and to de-stress. If you have reached your ideal weight I recommend yoga and If you need to loose weight, I'm afraid its the gym for you. I'm am still losing weight so I vote the gym.

I can actually do exercises without going to the gym. I like yoga but I prefer to move my body and to feel the burn. I actually like it when I can feel the muscles aching, it means, what I'm doing is effective. I love it when I sweat a lot and I just keep on moving.
